What can I do to keep knife crime out of Essex?
The best method of staying safe is to not carry a knife!
- If you think someone is carrying a knife – stay away from them.
- If you know or believe someone is carrying report it by calling
Essex Police on 0300 333 4444 or 999 if it's an emergency.

What will happen if I am caught carrying a knife?
- You wil be arrested and taken to a police station to be dealt with.
- The maximum sentence for carrying a knife is four years in prison.
