The best method of staying safe is to not carry a knife! If you think someone is carrying a knife - stay away from them. If you know or believe someone is carrying report it by calling Essex Police on 0300 333 4444 or 999 if it's an emergency.

What will happen if I am caught carrying a knife?
You wil be arrested and taken to a police station to be dealt with. The maximum sentence for carrying a knife is four years in prison.
